Reports from our elected officials

From Fire Chief Kennedy:

Good Afternoon,

I would personally like to thank each of you for taking the time to participate in Palm Beach County Fire Rescue’s Strategic Planning Process. The end result is something we can collectively be proud of, so I am giving you a sneak peek before we generate a wide release.

In January 2022, over 250 community representatives were invited to participate in a series of virtual stakeholder engagement meetings facilitated by a representative from the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE).  Community stakeholders, such as yourself, were asked to complete a survey to prioritize the department’s programs, provide positive and negative feedback, and share expectations for our existing or future fire rescue services. You rose to the challenge.

Over the months following your invaluable participation, a group of 35 internal stakeholders representing all ranks and sections of the department, worked together to review your feedback. They conducted a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis, developed targeted strategic goals and objectives, and created a new transformative mission statement.

Thanks in large part to your engagement, I am proud to say our Strategic Plan is now completed!  Attached is a link to the final document for your review. Please do not forward the link at this time - PBCFR STRATEGIC PLAN LINK

As your fire chief, it is my honor to serve this community. I know that our personnel are committed to delivering Excellence Today, while Improving Tomorrow. This is our “Vision” that was defined just a couple years ago, and now, with this new Strategic Plan and Mission Statement we are building upon our quest to bring the absolute best out of everything we do, every single day. We can thank you for taking an active approach to seeing your fire rescue department grow.

Eternally grateful,

Patrick J. Kennedy, Fire Chief
